Ceramic or Decorative Toughened Glass
CERAMIC GLASS
A Ceramic glass also referred to as pyroceramic, neoceramic or robax glass, is a high temp glass that is designed to handle extreme heat of up to 1470 degrees F (3/16″ thick or 5mm).
FIRE PLACE GLASS
Here at WoodStove-Fireplaceglass we use the term ceramic glass generically, meaning pyroceram, neoceram or robax glass. This glass has a slight “amber” tint to it. It is referenced as a glass, but in actuality, it is a transparent ceramic material. This type of glass-ceramic should always be used in any wood stove. Never, ever use tempered glass in an airtight wood stove.
